Check out our learning!

Mrs.Kulyk and Miss.Elliott presented at a teacher’s conference about our digital writing this year. They made two videos that showed our learning about digital writing and our  digital writing process.  Many of the students in our class are in these video’s, but everyone’s ideas and reflections were included.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful stories of learning in your classrooms. I work with a lot of teachers trying to encourage them to use blogging with their students and these videos are lovely evidence of how it can work. (( will be sharing it with many of them too!)
I also work with these students who have just completed the Student Blogging Challenge. I truly think blogging has so much to offer !

Kudos! Great material here. I wondered how you made your screencast, especially the early pages where pages showing student work bounce in and out. What software and techniques have served you best?

Thanks for the comment Jane Krauss! We made our videos using Imovie. We took screenshots of students work using our Ipads and then inserted the pictures into our Imovie which has fun transitions built into it which you can use to bounce pictures in and out.

We have used a lot of different apps and technology tools, you can find a list of them here: https://edshelf.com/profile/tkulyk/digital-writing

Thanks for sharing your experiences and expertise. I was wondering what your ratio of student to devices is to help accomplish this. At the moment my class has 4 tablets, no physical keyboards to go with, that we book out each day. This has made writing using technology a bit tricky this year.

Hi Erin, thanks for the comment. We are very lucky in our school as we have enough Ipads for every two students, plus a handful of mini-laptop computers that we can use. Fortunately we can get each student on a device.
